Dear Hypoxia Enthusiast:
Lots of updates consolidated into one
email. So please read this carefully.
The
Last International Hypoxia Symposia: After 47
years, Hypoxia is wrapping things up. We have had a great run
and look forward to celebrating the achievements and experiences
of Hypoxia over the years. If you have been to Hypoxia meetings
in the past and have any photos you would like to share, please
send up to five (5) of your favorites so we can include them in
various displays. Submit your photos here (with
some information about their content).
Old
Timers: We would like to recognize everyone who
has been to many Hypoxia meetings. To get on that list and be
eligible for untold and unmentionable rewards, please email us with
details such as the first meeting, and how many meetings since
1979.

board to share information about rides and
room requests. If you can offer a ride to/from Calgary
airport, please post on the bulletin board. Same goes if you
can share your coveted room at the Chateau.
Program: Keep up
with the latest updates to the program here.
***Note: A large group of Chinese scientists are having
challenging times getting their visas to Canada. Some have been
rejected; others are simply in limbo. Since many presentations
were linked to this group, the schedule and program are subject
to change until Hypoxia 2025 is over! Embrace uncertainty and
all will be fine.
Lodging
at the Chateau: Two events have merged to fill up the
Chateau during the conference. One is that we have our highest
enrollment ever and two is a local weekend hockey fest. This has
two impacts. One, 10-15% of our delegates will be staying
off-site. And two, off-site guests need to purchase “meal
tickets” (available at Front Desk Chateau Lake Louise) to join
us for the infamous Hypoxia meals. The Bulletin
Board listed above is a good forum to seek room
sharing opportunities.
Special
Banquet: Saturday night we will travel by horse
drawn sleigh to the Brewster Barn for an evening of good food,
fine music and embarrassingly fun line dancing. Bring your
western apparel and calf roping skills for a good time. Chateau
guests, this dinner is included in your room charge. Off-site
guests, you can buy a ticket for the banquet at the “Financial
Transactions” website. Look for “AddOn purchases”,
just as for the Hypoxia Bus.
The
Hypoxia Bus: We will publish a list of who is on
what bus by the end of this week. Just let us know if something
needs to be changed for you. No panic; there is plenty of room.
Refunds for cancellations will be processed no later than 28
February 2025.
