Here you will find some of the most commonly asked questions about the 20th International Hypoxia Symposium.

The most popular route is to fly to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. From Calgary you can take a shuttle or rent a car. Click here for more driving information. There will be a bus on the afternoon of Tuesday, 7 February, and returning the morning of Sunday, 12 February.

The 20th IHS will be held Tuesday, 7 February to Sunday, 12 February 2017. On Tuesday, 7 February 2017 is registration and our opening reception. The formal scientific program starts Wednesday and ends Saturday evening. Most delegates will depart Sunday, 12 February. We have arranged special conference rates at Chateau Lake Louise for three days before and after the conference.

Early registration will be open from 15 October through 23 January 2017. Late registration is open until the meeting starts. After 23 January 2017, registration will only be accepted at the meeting in Lake Louise. Click here to start your registration.

Registration for the conference and attendance at all official functions. Also, only registered Hypoxia delegates can get the special Hypoxia room and meals rate at the Chateau Lake Louise.

An accompanying person is a spouse or friend who is not planning to attend the scientific program, but would like to join you for the evening after-dinner program. For example, if Dr. Jones and her husband Bill are attending, but Bill is planning to ski all day, they both need to be registered. Dr. Jones as a regular delegate, and Bill as an accompanying person. Also, our agreement with the Chateau stipulates that all guests of the Hotel under our program will be registered delegates.

From Tuesday evening through Sunday morning your hotel room reservation includes all meals and coffee breaks. If you choose to come early, and leave late, your meals will not be included in the room price.

Every year some delegates make a reservation online for a room at the Chateau instead of booking through the Hypoxia meeting. You will have a room, but you will not have meals included, you won't have paid the hotel's service fees, and we will not know you are part of the meeting. So please, book directly with the Chateau for the Hypoxia meetings.

Early abstracts will be accepted until 15 December 2016. Late abstracts will be accepted up until 22 January 2017. You must be registered to submit an abstract. Learn more here.

The proceedings for Hypoxia 2017 will be published as a series of mini-reviews in the Journal of Applied Physiology, with abstracts published here online. As those papers become available links will be posted here.
